Lala Lajpat Rai (1885 - November 17, 1928). On October 30, 1928 he lead the Anti-Simon procession and was struck by the police. The arrows show two of the injuries received by him. This photograph was taken 29 hours after the assault. "Every blow struck at us … was a nail in the coffin of the British Empire." – Lajpat Rai.
