In August 1914, she met Mahatma Gandhi, who totally directed her energy towards the fight for freedom, resulting in a series of letters exchanged between Gandhi and Sarojini Naidu till Gandhi's death in 1948 - letters of amazing honesty, beauty, humour and truth - letters which tell the tale of the freedom struggle, and the tale of a deep, probing relationship.
